AShiana and Saaf Paani Scams: NAB Tighten up the circle against Shahbaz Sharif_ Dawn Media group now began to unearth real investigative stories about alleged corruption of Sharif Dynasty

Note:

You hear often proverb طوطا چشم in Urdu. A poet says,

طوطا چشم اکھل کھری ہیں
ٹال جاتی ہیں روکھی سناتی ہیں
Same ratty type thing happening in Pakistan after end of the ‘Shahbaz Raj’ in Punjab. Commercial Liberal Mafia in service of PML-N is turning its eyes from their anti-establishment( some calling it اصطبلشمنٹ as joke) Icon Nawaz Sharif and ‘Wheel of Change’ and ‘Peddler of Good Governance’ Shahbaz Sharif.

Now Dawn Media group seems to bring slightly change in its investigative journalism, while unearthing stories of alleged corruption committed by ‘Sharif dynasty’. But we should keep in mind that this change in policy came just after end of the Shahbaz Raj in Punjab and after clear indication of forming PTI government in Punjab and in Islamabad.

Dawn Media group’s official website, very first time posted a news story having details about alleged role of former Chief Minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif, his son and his son of law in Ashiana and Saaf Paani scams. Before appearing this news, Dawn Media group’s focus of investigative journalism on Sindh or KPK more than Punjab or federal government. Even host of ‘HardTalk’ program of BBC service alleged on CEO Dawn Media Group Haroon Hameed and group itself biased and controversial in the case of Nawaz legal and its gornment.

News titled with ‘ Ashiana and Saaf Paani Scams: Officers in NAB custody ‘incriminate’ Shahbaz’ is clear sign of change in Dawn Media group’s policy. And very first time this media group informs its readers that rule of Shahbaz Sharif in Punjab was not neat and clean even model of alleged big scams and clear violation of rules and regulations. Contracts in projects of billions rupees like Ashiana Housing Scheme and Saaf Pani Project were awarded to their darling firms and got commission and kick-backs. Such reporting we saw very rare in daily Dawn, monthly Herald and near to total sensor scene of such stories about alleged fraud and corruption in Punjab in Dawn News TV.

Projecting Nawaz Sharif as Anti-Establishment and torch bearer of Supremacy of Parliament on one side and projecting Shahbaz Sharif, the best CM and making impression of good governance in Punjab, while massive propaganda of worst governance in Sindh, Dawn Media GROUP(not only Dawn Media Group but Geo Media group and Nawa-i-Waqat media group etc —– in words of Haroon Hameed, Three oldest and big media groups…….) created impression of prevailing  very good governance and best possible transparency in financial and development matters in Punjab and vice versa in other provinces particularly where PPP was ruling.

Commercial liberal Mafia in service of PML_N declared rule of Shahbaz Sharif in Punjab a wheel of change and never unearthed its mismanagement, Bad Governance and alleged massive corruption and plundering of government sources on larger scale. Now when they are seeing tightening up the circle against Shahbaz Sharif then they are doing rather slightly objective journalism.

LAHORE: PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif’s troubles seem to have mounted further as one after another suspects who are in the National Accountability Bureau’s custody are providing “incriminating evidence” against the former chief minister of Punjab in different scams, sources told Dawn on Thursday.

After the statement of Mr Fawad Hasan Fawad, former principal secretary to ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, in which he named Shahbaz Sharif for awarding contract to a “favourite firm” in Rs14bn Ashiana Housing project on his (Shahbaz’s) orders, former chief executive officer (CEO) of the Punjab Saaf Pani Company (PSPC) Wasim Ajmal has also reportedly passed the buck to the PML-N president, accusing him of making him (Mr Ajmal) a scapegoat to save his son-in-law Imran Ali Yousaf in the PSPC scam. “It is likely that Mr Ajmal becomes an approver against Shahbaz Sharif,” a source said. He said Mr Fawad had also provided “incriminating evidence” against the ex-chief minister in the Ashiana Housing corruption case, making it difficult for him (Mr Sharif) to defend himself before a combined investigation team of the NAB Lahore on August 20.
